Before the inception of the Pannonia Hotel, the building operated as an inn in the 16th century. For a long time this was the only hotel in Sopron. It has been rebuilt many times over the years, as “Vörös Ökör”, “Aranyszarvas Fogadó”, “Magyar Királyi Fogadó”. The hotel also had several famous guests, as Franz Liszt composer, Francis Joseph king of Hungary and emperor of Austria, Johann Strauss composer, István Bethlen Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Hungary.
Today’s Pannonia Hotel based on the plans of Hintráger Móricz in 1893, which is one of the most beautiful turn-of-the-century hotel in Hungary.
In 1992 it became the property of the old Dental Pannonia Kft., and it still operates as a family business.

The Pannonia Hotel located in the heart of the historic town Sopron, next to the city’s main sights. Guests can make use of our private garage and they can explore the romantic streets and squares of the old town on foot and sample the tastes of our best restaurants.

Our elegant downtown hotel awaits our guests in a historical environment, with modern services and environmentally conscious solutions.
